The Museum of Modern Art Olomouc needs a new building for the preservation and presentation of its own collections, which will be built in the gap next to the existing building. The first newly constructed museum building in the country since 1938, designed by architect Jan Šépka, respects the historical structure of the city while confidently claiming a contemporary architectural expression.

With its citation of five medieval plots and the uniform volume of the new concrete building, it responds to the characteristic diversity of the site. The architecture forgoes detail in favor of abstracted form, prompting the progressive use of 3D printing in high-performance concrete. The load-bearing walls will have better insulation properties and there will be material savings, with no need for formwork or reinforcement.
